Blog Post 4: Huck Finn: Setting Description

I arrive at my paradise every other weekend. Though my paradise isn’t huge and luxurious, it offers me with a very relaxing comfort. The Friday nights when I walk through the door for the first time makes me feel as though the weights are finally off my shoulders. For these two days in which I’m able to breathe easy. When I enter, I encounter barking of my mother’s four dogs as they greet me. Along side them my mother stands, holding them back just long enough for me to gather and set my possessions down on the grayish blue carpet. Within seconds, as I pat the dogs on their heads’, the rushing scents of an extravagant meal that are intended for me, make their way to my nostrils.
After placing my coat on the back of the nearest couch, the warm air begins to infiltrate before me. As I settle in and begin to chow down on the sapid meal, the feeling of immense relief begins to take part within me. When I’m done consuming this meal which usually consists of Salmon, my favorite cuisine ever since I can remember, or some other tasty treat, I find myself taking a hot shower. Afterwards I spend the rest of the night enjoying my time there with my family, consisting of my mother, sister, and her four dogs, who which I see around only 75 times a year. These Friday nights are some of the best days of the year.
